What Happens After You Place an Order at Jin Designs?
Do you ever wonder what really happens after you click “Buy” on the Jin Designs website? It might seem like your order disappears into the internet, only to magically reappear on your doorstep. But there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to make it happen. Here’s a look at the journey your order takes, from the studio in Hove to the warehouse team in Eastbourne, all the way to your door.
When you place an order at Jin Designs, it kicks off a carefully coordinated process that involves real humans, clever systems and a lot of care and attention to detail. From the studio to warehouse to courier van, your parcel goes on quite a journey - and it all starts here...
Every order that comes in lands in my inbox. I check each one myself, to make sure everything’s in stock, and it then is automatically sent through to the warehouse. It’s a small but important moment - because every order helps keep this small business going, and I’m very grateful for that.
There’s a sense of relief and joy with each order - knowing I can pay bills, keep creating new designs, and build something meaningful. It's not glamorous, but these are the moments that keep a small business alive.
Within about 15 minutes of your order being placed, the warehouse team is notified. The system automatically allocates the products, and they get everything ready for picking and packing. It’s fast, smooth, and reliable.
Your order is then packed by the warehouse team. Usually by Dave! The team in Eastbourne take great care to ensure everything is wrapped properly, securely, and accurately. This is what’s known as “third-party fulfilment” - I store my products at the warehouse, and they pack and send them for me (along with a few other small businesses).
Once packed, your parcel is sent out using the delivery service you selected - Standard, Express, or Next Day. Using a fulfilment company means I can offer more delivery options than when I used to pack everything myself (which I did for the first 3 years!).
